2 Cups White Sugar

INSTRUCTIONS: Vanilla Sugar Recipe

How to Make Vanilla Sugar

1. Pour the sugar into a jar with a tight lid or an airtight container.

2. Slice the vanilla bean lengthwise down the center, and open the bean. Scrape out the seeds using a spoon or knife.

3. Stir the seeds into the sugar, and use the vanilla pod too for extra flavor by pushing it down into the sugar (cut into smaller pieces if needed).

4. Place the lid on tightly, give it a shake and let it stand for at least a week to absorb the vanilla flavors. The flavor will be more intense if you can leave it for a few weeks.
