Homemade Lemon Cordial

Homemade Lemon Cordial, there isn’t anything more refreshing than a cool glass of lemon cordial on a hot sunny day.

Lemon cordials are a fun and easy way to show off your own lemonade-inspired drinks recipes. They can also be a hit with guests who will love them.

Lemon cordial is super simple to make and lasts for up to a month. Just combine and heat all the ingredients, allow to cool in the refrigerator.

Add 1 part cordial to 4 parts of chilled or sparkling water, lemonade, or your favorite summer cocktail. Add ice and garnish with lemon slices or other fruits or berries.

This recipe makes around 1/2 litre of lemon cordial that can be mixed with water to make up to 4 liters of lemonade drink.

This fun and easy recipe is made with lemon essence, it’s a great way to show off your own lemonade drinks with a selection of toppers!

STORAGE: Homemade Lemon Cordial

FRIDGE: Place in an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 1 month.

FREEZER: Place in an airtight container or bag and store in the freezer for up to 6 months.

Homemade Lemon Cordial RECIPE

INGREDIENTS 

2 Cups White Sugar

2 Cups Water

1 tsp Lemon Essence

1 1/2 tsp Cream of Tartar

INSTRUCTIONS 

1. In a saucepan, add the white sugar, water and cream of tartar, stir the ingredients together

2. Heat until the sugar has dissolved, cook it on low heat so as not to boil the mixture.

3. Stir in the lemon essence and allow to cool.

4. Pour into a sterilized jar or bottle ready for use.

5. Add 1 part cordial to 4 parts of chilled or sparkling water.

6. Add ice and garnish with lemon slices.
